How to discuss several concerns at one medical appointment

At an internal medicine consultation, you may want to discuss several changes in how you feel. To keep the conversation organised, start with a brief list and identify what worries you most. The doctor can help decide the order of discussion and what needs attention first.
Prepare a few facts for each concern: when it began, how it has changed and what it prevents you from doing. If you notice a connection with a particular situation, describe it as an observation rather than a proven conclusion. Also mention anything you have already tried and your response to it.
Arrange earlier results in date order. Mark documents relevant to the current question so the whole appointment is not spent looking for a page. Do not dismiss an old report just because of its age, but do not assume it explains every new symptom either.
At the end, clarify which concerns now have a plan and which need a separate follow-up. Agree on how to stay in contact and arrange the next visit. If time runs out, mention unresolved questions explicitly: a concern you wrote down should not get lost among tests and recommendations.
